About Montessori Dementia Program
We are Canada’s first non-profit Montessori Organization dedicated to providing support and knowledge to those who assist and care for people living with Dementia. The Montessori Dementia Program has been designed to assist family members, health care providers, Personal Support Workers, and volunteers who are supporting individuals in all stages of Dementia, from those with new diagnoses to those with advanced Dementia, in their homes, respite care, adult day centers, retirement and long-term care residences.
Mission

Our mission is to provide Dementia programs, which train adult learners to become adaptable, resourceful guides who possess the skills to meet the needs of people living with dementia. The courses provides practical techniques, including medical knowledge, to assist patients to attain the best possible quality of life.


Vision
​
Our programs will guide and train adult caregivers who assist people living with Dementia. They will develop the skills necessary that will enable them to create a more purposeful, dignified and independent life for those living with Dementia. The major strengths of the program focus on a broad range of teaching strategies to support learning.
Ethics

Montessori Dementia Program operates within the provisions of the Human Rights Code of the Province of Ontario, which guarantees freedom from discrimination on the basis of age, sex, religious persuasion, race, or colour. Human dignity in an atmosphere of mutual respect, cooperation and openness is promoted at all times.
